Start with a clear working structure.
The research brief turns a recurring piece of work into a record that another person can understand and continue. The working view makes background, decision, and questions visible so discussion can move from general opinion to a specific action or decision.
Include only context that changes the work; separate verified facts, assumptions, constraints, and unresolved questions. Define inclusion and exclusion criteria, required coverage, sample size, recruitment source, consent, and bias risk. Complete method with the specific fact, choice, evidence, owner, and review implication required by the research brief.
